Yonat Mordoch is the heart and soul behind Yonat Midbar, a small business specializing in handcrafted natural soaps and personal care products inspired by the Negev desert’s unique environment. Yonat's journey began with a dramatic life shift when she left her PhD studies in biology at Hebrew University in Jerusalem due to her discomfort with animal testing and exposure to harmful chemicals. She moved to the Negev Desert, where she found solace in nature and discovered a passion for medicinal plants and holistic healing, sparked by her time with a Tibetan healer in India.

Yonat immersed herself in the study of ethnobotany, learning about desert plants from Bedouin healers. This deep connection with nature led her to create her own line of natural care products. After mastering the craft of soap-making, she officially launched Yonat Midbar, where she combines her love for the desert with her dedication to sustainable and healthy living. She also teaches workshops on natural product creation,  collaborating with the Bedouin community to promote coexistence and mutual understanding.

Yonat’s products are crafted in her studio in Arad and are loved by people worldwide. Her story is one of transformation, resilience, and a deep commitment to living in harmony with nature. Today, she continues to live in the Negev, raising her family and working closely with both Jewish and Bedouin communities, offering workshops and contributing to the educational system while sharing the ancient knowledge of traditional medicine.
