Eco-Yam is a student-led marine program at the Haifa Social High School (yam means “sea” in Hebrew). As young marine explorers, the students research the ocean, promote its protection, and develop natural solutions inspired by the sea’s remarkable treasures.
Eco-Yam’s work goes beyond products. Through workshops, community learning, and hands-on projects, the students invite the public to become active participants in sustainability and marine conservation—building real understanding of ocean health and the potential of seaweed.
Their seaweed soaps are one way they bring that mission into daily life. The seaweed used in each bar is cultivated and harvested by the students themselves, and it’s not just an eco-friendly ingredient—it’s a functional, skin-supporting one. Seaweed is rich in minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins that nourish the skin, help lock in natural moisture, cleanse gently, and can soothe sensitive or irritated areas.
At its core, Eco-Yam is about connection and advocacy: connecting people to the sea, revealing the power of seaweed, and inspiring environmental and experiential entrepreneurship—so more people don’t just care about the ocean, but actively stand up for it.
