Menuchah Armel is the author of Straight to the Plate and a seasoned caterer based in Israel. Originally from Baltimore, MD, Menuchah grew up in a family of five daughters, where each of them took turns preparing dinner every night. This early exposure to cooking laid the foundation for her passion for wholesome, balanced meals. After marrying and relocating to Israel, she continued her culinary journey by hosting Shabbat guests and preparing meals for her family, always striving to create an inviting and joyful atmosphere through food.
For over 15 years, Menuchah has been catering events, and her cookbook is a culmination of years of requests from those who have enjoyed her meals. Her goal is to help others recreate the delicious dishes that have brought joy to so many. Menuchah believes that food has the power to transform any gathering, turning a simple table into a festive celebration. With her cookbook, she aims to share the "key" to creating that special atmosphere, allowing families to bring the joy of a simcha into their everyday lives.
