Recopilación: David Miro

David Miro (of blessed memory) was a master coppersmith whose work reflects a rich family tradition of metal craftsmanship passed down through generations. Born in Mosul, Iraq in 1939 to a Jewish family deeply engaged in metalwork, David brought this heritage with him when his family made aliyah to Akko in 1950.

After settling in Israel, David learned the unique art of copperwork from his grandfather, laying the foundation for a lifelong creative path. Following his army service, he opened his first shop in Akko in 1963. Since then, David has built a distinctive artistic world rooted in tradition, history, and the cultural spirit of the Holy Land.

David’s work features handcrafted copper and brass pieces inspired by motifs from Judaism, Christianity, and the landscapes and stories of Israel. Each piece is created using traditional materials and techniques, then finished with protective coatings to preserve its beauty over time. His shop in Akko has become known for one-of-a-kind works that carry a sense of history, nostalgia, and craftsmanship that is increasingly rare.

Since 2005, David’s son Dror has worked alongside him, and now continues the family tradition, carrying  this unique artistic legacy into the next generation.

We are proud to offer works from David Miro as part of our ongoing commitment to the small businesses from Israel's Western Galilee
