Maayan Dee, born in Israel and raised in London, made Aliyah at 19 to serve as a lone soldier in the IDF’s elite K-9 unit. After traveling abroad, she returned to Israel, where she survived the Nova Festival. In its aftermath, art and music became her refuge. Maayan wrote the song Bring Them Home for the hostages in Gaza, pairing it with a powerful painting that tells her story: a single red flower of survival among yellow blossoms symbolizing those still captive. Her work is both deeply personal and universally resonant, reminding us of memory, hope, and collective responsibility.
