Découvrez l’histoire de Kibbutz Erez

Just one kilometer from the Gaza border, Kibbutz Erez has stood as a symbol of resilience since its founding in 1949 by pioneering young Zionists. Named for the Hebrew word for “cedar,” the kibbutz has long combined a strong agricultural tradition with a deep commitment to community, becoming synonymous with the nearby Erez Crossing at Israel’s northern gateway to Gaza.

On October 7, 2023, Kibbutz Erez found itself on the front lines of Hamas’ terrorist assault. As terrorists attempted to breach the community, the kibbutz’s volunteer security team fought a courageous hours-long battle that prevented a massacre. Though the community suffered the heartbreaking loss of security squad member Amir Naim and others were wounded, their bravery saved countless lives and became one of the many extraordinary stories of courage from that day.

Today, the people of Kibbutz Erez continue to rebuild while remaining deeply rooted in the land they have cultivated for generations. Their small-batch honey and handcrafted fruit jams capture the flavors of Israel’s western Negev, using locally grown produce and traditional recipes that celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage. Every jar represents more than exceptional quality—it supports a community determined to thrive, rebuild, and ensure that life continues to flourish just steps from the border.
